Agustín Someillan is a Cuban-born trumpeter, producer, arranger, and composer known for his versatility and deep roots in Afro-Caribbean music. A former member of the legendary Septeto Nacional de Ignacio Piñeiro, Agustín contributed to their Grammy-nominated album “Havana Tiene Su Son” (14th Latin Grammy Awards), produced by Francisco David Oropesa.
Born into a family of musicians, Agustín quickly established himself as a leading voice in Latin music—not only as a skilled instrumentalist, but also as a respected producer and arranger. His work spans collaborations with icons such as Herman Olivera (singer for Eddie Palmieri), Pequeno Johnny, Eddie Montalvo, Luis Mangual, Arturo Ortiz, Anissa Gathers, Jairon Moreno, Elvis Bonilla, Hector Maisonave, Brenda K Starr, Willie Chirino, Chembo Corniel, Septeto Nacional Ignacio Piniero and many others.
Agustín’s production credits include standout arrangements like “Tres Verdaderos Amigos” (featuring Papo Lucca Caneca & Herman Olivera) and “Borinquen Se Levanta”, composed by Yova Rodríguez. He continues to create and produce for Latin Grammy-nominated artists and for legendary promoter Héctor Maisonave.
As a performer, Agustín has played with world-renowned acts including Luigi Texidor, Conjunto Chaney, Andy Montanez, Yolanda Rivera, Choco Orta, Orquesta Sonora Dinamita, Americo, Willy Chirino, Brenda K. Star, Orquesta Tropicana, Los Jovenes Clasico Del Son, Danny Rosada Y La Timba Cubana, Carlon Y La Novena and many more—bringing his signature sound to stages across the globe.
